WAMENA today | National Police Chief Police General Prof. H. Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Ph.D. together with the Indonesian Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs, General TNI (Ret.) Dr. H. Wiranto, S.H., S.I.P ,; Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, M.Sc., and the TNI Commander, TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, S.I.P., arrived at Wamena Airport using the Air Force Hercules Aircraft on Tuesday (08/10) at 14.15 WIT.
The arrival of the group was welcomed by the Papua Police Chief Inspector General of Police Drs. Paulus Waterpau, along with the Chief Officials of the Papua Regional Police and the Jayawijaya Regent, Jhon Richard Banua, S.E M.Si along with Forkopimda.
During this visit the National Police Chief was accompanied by the Indonesian Police Headquarters, Komjen Pol Drs. Agung Budi Maryoto, M.Sc., Asops Chief of Police, Inspector General of Police Drs. Martuani Sormin, M.Sc. and Karopenmas Divhumas Polri, Brigjen Pol Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M.Hum., M.Sc., M.M.
Then the group headed for Kodim 1702 Cinderawasih to observe the location of the refugee camp, after arriving immediately carrying out a meal together with the refugees in the central courtyard of Kodim 1702 Cinderawasih.
On the occasion, the Menkopolhukam invited a dialogue with the refugees who, on his arrival to Wamena, in order to convey a message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia namely the Government will immediately build infrastructure, public facilities and markets and shop houses that are damaged or burned so that economic conditions in Wamena are expected soon recovered. In addition, the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief also convinced the refugees and the community, both migrants and indigenous people, to guarantee security in the Wamena and surrounding areas because 1,000 troops had been deployed.
On that occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs also provided symbolic assistance to the Jayawijaya Regent for the construction of a damaged / burning shophouse.
Furthermore, the Menkopolhukam, the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief and their entourage headed to the Aithousa Building in Bethlehem Wamena to carry out face-to-face meetings with religious leaders, traditional leaders and community leaders in Wamena, where in the activities the Menkopolhukam RI intended and aimed at Wamena, namely conveying the President’s message and accommodating and accommodating and report suggestions or messages from community leaders, traditional leaders and religious leaders to relevant parties even to the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
